With all of its canals, it’s no wonder that locals call Fort Lauderdale the Venice of America.
This city boasts miles of stunning shoreline and the legendary party atmosphere made so famous by the Spring Break culture. But Fort Lauderdale also plays host to museums, great shopping and plethora of eateries, arts and entertainment. And don’t forget the great parklands strewn about its map.
The city has been steadily growing for years and is soon to approach the 200,000 mark. But it’s part of a greater metro area that is swelling up to 6 million strong. With plenty to do and see, some of the premier areas to check out are Lauderdale Beach and the Flagler Village arts district. If you’re looking for great outdoor attractions, try the Bonnet House Museum & Gardens, Hugh Taylor Birch State Park or Esplanade Park. Those feeling more adventurous can head on over to the nearby Everglades. See if you don’t spot some alligators!
