Welcome to Southern Florida and what is perhaps its hidden gem perched right up against the crown jewel of Miami.
Coral Gables is naturally blessed with wonderful beaches as is most of the region. But it also has incredible shopping, marvelous parks and even stunning spring-fed pools. It’s a quieter place than its more famous big-city neighbor, but with no shortage of fine cuisine, cultural destinations and plenty of surf to relax and enjoy yourself upon.
About 50,000 people live in the city of Coral Gables, one of the first planned communities built during the 1920’s land boom of Miami-Dade County. While hitting the beach and ocean are on everybody’s to-do list, there’s plenty more to explore here. World-class museums, stunning architecture and surprising parks are all part of the landscape. Be sure to check out the Miracle Mile with its incredible bar and restaurant scene, or one of the green areas such as Old Cutter trail and its lush hiking offerings. Outside the city limits, of course, is Miami and other nearby communities such as the Florida Keys and Fort Lauderdale, plus natural wonders like Everglades National Park and Big Cypress National Preserve.
